Sales Manager – Lugh Aviation LLC
Join a Growing Aviation Services Company as a Founding Sales Leader
Lugh Aviation LLC is a newly formed, Texas and Pennsylvania -based limited liability company specializing in high-quality contract helicopter pilot services, with additional offerings in contract aviation mechanics (A&P) and avionics technicians, helicopter brokerage, appraisals, and expert witness testimony. We are also exploring expansion into commercial drone operations.
Led by Managing Member who is AnnATP rated helicopter pilot with 23 years of professional military and civilian flying experience. The company provides flexible, ad-hoc pilot and technician support primarily to 14 CFR Part 145 and Part 91 helicopter operators. With an experienced IT partner (llc member with partial ownership and future CTO) handling technology and systems, we are building a lean, high-capability team ready to scale.
We have early traction with active clients and a growing pipeline. Now, we’re looking for a driven Sales Manager to build and lead our sales efforts from the ground up.
The Opportunity
This is a ground-floor leadership role for someone who wants meaningful equity in a niche aviation services business with strong growth potential. You will shape our sales strategy, develop a pipeline of operators and clients, close deals, and eventually build and manage a small team of commission-based sales representatives.
In return, we offer a substantial profits interest (negotiable starting in the 8-12% range, vesting over 3 years with performance milestones) plus commission overrides on team-generated revenue. No base salary—this is a true ownership opportunity for a self-starter excited by building something real in the aviation industry.
We are headquartered in Pennsylvania but in the process of relocating operations toward the Conroe, Texas area (Houston metro). Remote work is possible with occasional travel; local candidates near Conroe or the greater Houston area are especially encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new contract customers among Part 145/91 operators, maintenance facilities, law firms (for expert witness work), and other aviation stakeholders.
- Prospect, qualify, and close deals for contract pilots, A&P/avionics technicians, brokerage services, appraisals, and expert testimony.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships in the aviation community.
- Identify market opportunities and help refine our service offerings (including future commercial drone operations).
- Recruit, train, and manage commission-only sales representatives as the company scales.
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Member on negotiations, contract reviews (basic contract knowledge a plus), and strategic growth initiatives.
- Track sales performance, pipeline, and key metrics, reporting directly to the Managing Member.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven B2B sales experience — 4+ years closing deals in services, B2B solutions, or a related field (aviation or transportation/logistics experience is a strong plus but not required—aviation specifics are teachable).
- Team-building and leadership skills — Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and manage small sales teams.
- Self-motivated hunter with a track record of generating and closing new business in relationship-driven or niche markets.
- Comfort operating in a startup environment with limited resources and high autonomy.
- Basic familiarity with contracts and deal negotiation is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills and professional presence suitable for aviation industry stakeholders.
- Willingness to work on a performance-based compensation model tied to equity and commissions.
Compensation & Structure
- Equity: Profits interest in Lugh Aviation LLC (target 8-15%, vesting over 3 years aligned with company milestones and a planned 3-year partner review for potential S-corp conversion or other strategic events). Acceleration clauses possible upon significant company events.
- Commissions: Override on sales closed by you and any team members you manage.
- This is a 1099/contractor-friendly arrangement initially, with potential to evolve as the company grows. We will amend our LLC operating agreement to formalize the profits interest.
If you’re a sales professional tired of corporate structures and excited by the idea of building and owning a piece of a specialized aviation services company, we want to hear from you.
